Commercial heating specialist Strebel has recently updated its S-FX range of ultra-low NOx gas fired floor standing boilers stating that these boilers, along with all other current S-CB and S-CBX boiler models, are capable of operating on Natural Gas blended with up to a 20% Hydrogen mix.

In addition, following client feedback, the new S-FX.21 boiler has been fitted with heavy duty positioning wheels that can be locked into position once the boilers are in the correct location. The new design also includes a stylish black and red casing as well as a repositioning of the internal wiring to the rear of the boiler to make installation work on site easier.

S-FX floor standing boilers have been a popular choice with specifiers and contractors in recent years particularly for retrofit projects or new build BREEAM projects due to the low NOx emissions. The range is available in four sizes with outputs from 70 to 320Kw, based upon 50/30⁰C system design.

At the heart of the S-FX.21 is a stainless-steel tube-bundle heat exchanger. This large water content design allows the boiler to accommodate systems with a delta T of up to 500C. This feature means that efficiency can be maximised on older systems, which is why this range is particularly suitable for boiler retrofit projects. Neither does the S-FX.21 require a minimum flow rate removing the requirement for a primary circulation pump.

An integral cascade controller enables up to 6 boilers to be configured together providing up to 2MW in a single cascade for heating and a hot water installation.

Ultra-low NOx emissions of less than 23mg/kWh is another key feature of the S-FX.21 range; not only does this mean a reduction in harmful emissions, but the S-FX range qualifies for maximum 2 credits on BREEAM projects.

“S-FX boilers have been one of our most popular products in recent years, particularly for boiler upgrade projects” said National Sales Manager, Adrian Walker. “With the Government showing interest in introducing a Hydrogen blend of up to 20% into the Gas Network we think it important to state that our entire range of boilers can accommodate this change.  At the same time, we have taken feedback from our trusted installer partners, and added the positioning wheels to make  moving the boilers around on site a deal easier.”

Strebel UK was established in 1970 since when its products have provided heating and hot water solutions for commercial applications such as schools, university buildings, hospitals, care homes, offices, and multi-residential buildings.
