The Building Controls Engineer of the Year award is just one of six awards to be presented at the Building Controls Industry Association’s (BCIA) Training Awards Ceremony which are being presented in association with BSEE on Thursday 24 May.

The awards dinner will follow the BCIA’s annual general meeting at the Hilton Coventry Hotel. The five other categories are:

 Best Overall Technical Training Student.

 Initiative Award, organised by the BCIA Contracts Working Group.

 Frank Dennis OBE Marketing Award, organised by the BCIA Marketing Working Group and being sponsored by the Frank Dennis OBE Trust.

 Training Advocate of the Year, organised by the BCIA Skills Development Working Group.

 Industry Newcomer, organised by the BCIA Technical Working Group.

“Exceptional people need to be acknowledged and these awards provide the opportunity for due recognition across a range of skills: technical, marketing, contracts, managerial, and those people who have taken their first steps to a building controls career,” said Doug Robins, BCIA President.

“The Frank Dennis OBE Marketing Award is in memory of Frank Dennis who died in 1989. Frank worked tirelessly on behalf of the HEVAC Association and was a driving force in establishing government links so that HEVAC’s voice would be heard. His regard throughout the industry was such that following his death colleagues moved to establish the Frank Dennis Memorial Award.”

The award categories are open to all BCIA Member company employees and the winner in each category will receive a substantial grant that will allow them to invest in the relevant training to further their careers.
