Smedegaard Pumps are celebrating after an excellent performance at the Sedgemoor Business Awards of Excellence, which is the area in Somerset that Smedegaard UK has its head office located.
Chris Barrett, Director of the company won the prestigious award of Business Leader of the Year. This award was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and was considered one of the most prestigious awards of the evening. The award was given to Mr Barrett for his part in both turning the company from a low market share and profitability position, into one of the best performing pump manufacturers in the UKÂ in his six years at the helm and for his commitment to the area through community sponsorship. Â
The company also won the award for Best Green Business of the Year. This was for their dedicated work in developing new environmentally friendly and energy efficient pumps such as the ECOFlexx and the new Magneta range.
Additionally to this, Smedegaard was shortlisted for three further awards, Best International Trader, Best overall Large Business of the Year and Staff Development of the Year award for their dedication to training individuals from the local area. Â
