The Finning Defence Group claims to be launching the most reliable and easiest to maintain Environmental Control Unit available to the forces.
The new unit has an EER rating of 15.97 and SEER rating of 17.75, with an output capacity of 60,000 BTU.  Engineers can preset and change the temperature via a control panel, which they access by turning on a switch – this prevents unwanted tampering.
Powered by a scroll compressor, the unit is quiet and has a long life.  It is primed with R407 HFC refrigerant, which according to Finning gives the unit a wider and more powerful operation.
Flexible and quick release ducting is supplied in a stowage bag and Finning states that this can be fitted in just two minutes.
Designed for operating in harsh environments, it has integrated sand screens around the coil and visual warning lights for blocked filter and phase rotation.  Flexible pipework and couplings allow for vibration during operation or transportation.
Maintenance is also simple.  The filter is easily accessible via a quick release lid and can be removed, washed and reused.Â
