Mitsubishi Electric has introduced a new smaller building control unit that is simple to install and simple to commission. The new BAC-IP-50 has been specifically designed to be very easy to fit and it can be commissioned in minutes.
The unit works with Mitsubishi Electric’s popular G50 controller to allow complete control and monitoring for up to 50 air conditioning units and follows on the success of the company’s BACnet (Building Automation & Control Networks) Gateway to provide customers with more choice.
Unlike the existing BACnet Gateway, the new unit does not need a PC to connect the G50 to a BACnet network. The BAC-IP-50 also allows customers to take advantage of the move within the controls industry towards BACnet becoming more standard. “More and more systems integrators are using BACnet as the standard protocol, although other protocols, such as Modbus, LonWorks and Trend will continue to be available,” explained Sebastien Desmottes, the company’s controls expert.
The BAC-IP-50 can be installed the same way as the popular Modbus gateway (IP-50M) and is very small (only 144mm x 104mm x 34mm).
