With £860 million made available by the UK government to support its Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) non-domestic renewable heat generators and producers of biomethane are required to measure their output.

In order to claim rebates they require RHI-compliant meters that are accurate and approved.

MWA Technology, the UK’s leading meter stockist, has made available a broad range of leading branded heat meters for measuring renewable heat from ground, air, methane/Biogas and wood. These brands include Itron, Kamstrup, Grundfos and others.

MWA, Managing Director, Martin Wardell said: “It is estimated that by 2020 there will be 13,000 installations in industry and 110,000 installations in the commercial and public sector.  These are expected to generate around 57TWh of renewable heat.

“Renewable heat is a big issue, and it needs to be in order to meet the UK’s binding targets to generate 15% of our energy from renewable sources by 2020.  MWA intends to be at the forefront of offering meter solutions to help meet these objectives.”

MWA is also offering advice on the selection and operation of RHI-compliant meters.
