New thermostatic mixing valves

Safety valve specialist, Reliance Water Controls, has a new generation of thermostatic mixing valves available to help combat the risk of scalding in domestic and commercial bathrooms. The Heatguard DC2 offers TMV2 approved protection suitable for bathers in the home; the Heatguard DC3 is TMV3 approved, complying with the NHS D08 healthcare specification and ideal for the hospital or care environment, where users are amongst the most vulnerable.

A new edition of Part G (Sanitation, hot water and water efficiency) of the Building Regulations for England and Wales comes into force in October 2009, requiring that baths in newbuild homes be fitted with a protective device, such as a thermostatic mixing valve, to limit the temperature of hot water at the bath outlet to a safe maximum.  Similar regulations have been in place in Scotland since 2006.

To achieve compliance with the new regulations, Reliance’s new high performance TMV2 approved thermostatic mixing valve: the Heatguard DC2 can be fitted near the outlet.  It provides precise and stable temperature control, protecting the user from thermal shock if either the hot or cold supply fails.
