Vent-Axia has launched the HR100R/RS range of easy to install, self-contained heat recovery units, purpose-designed for single bath/bedroom applications in hotels, nursing or care homes, and other multioccupancy properties. The HR100R/RS can successfully ventilate these spaces in compliance with new Building Regulations for bathrooms and WC’s, recovering up to 70% of the heat that would otherwise be wasted by ordinary fans.
Vent-Axia’s top access HR100R unit is suitable for loft installations whilst the bottom access HR100RS is ideal for location above suspended ceilings. Both models extract stale air from the bathroom, replacing it with fresh air from outside. The two air paths flow through the unit’s heat exchanger where most of the heat is taken from the extracted air, transferred to the incoming air and delivered back into the bedroom to raise the supply air temperature and reduce relative humidity. This ensures compliance with the energy efficiency recommendations contained in Part F and Part L of the Building Regulations. It meets the Building Regulations requirement for bathroom ventilation whilst simultaneously recovering valuable heat which would otherwise be exhausted to the atmosphere.
