Lochinvar has supplied its high efficiency space and water heating equipment to Butlins’ prestigious new timeshare development in Minehead.
The Blueskies vacation club is a first for Butlins, offering members an annual break in a stylish, contemporary apartment situated on the seafront with free access to the main Butlins Resort.

Lochinvar Managing Director David Pepper said: “Having provided an efficient and reliable service for Butlins projects in the past, we are delighted to have been chosen to supply gas-fired boilers and water heaters for the 24 luxury apartments.”

Three CP-M100 fully condensing boilers complete with manifold pipework assemblies were supplied for space heating requirements. The CP-M is efficient even when not condensing due to the design of its stainless steel heat exchanger. The built in weather controller adjusts the demand for heat in response to the outside temperature and the pre-mixed burner design also keeps NOx emissions to a minimum.

Two copper-fin EPW250CE and two LST100 storage tanks provide hot water requirements. The copper-fin range operates on the principles of low storage capacity but fast recovery of hot water, which Lochinvar says is ideal for this project where requirements are variable and there is often peak demand. The low profile of the EPW250CE was also an important factor in water heater selection.

The Lochinvar equipment was specified by London based Curona Design and installed by The Mackie Engineering Co Ltd based in Banstead in Surrey.

Blueskies offers a selection of one or two bedroom apartments which sleep between two and ten people.
