Smedegaard and a KSBOn the 23rd December 2015, KSB Ltd acquired Bridgwater-based Smedegaard Ltd. The company has been established in the UK since 1983 and is known for manufacturing circulating pumps used in heating systems, booster sets and pressurisation units.

The acquisition of Smedegaard Ltd has given KSB Ltd access to a wider scope of technology in the UK building services sector, thanks to the circulating pumps which are also able to meet the increasing energy efficiency requirements of the ErP Directive. Distributed through KSB’s and Smedegaard sales organisations in the UK, these products are now reaching a broader customer base.

Matt Taylor, Sales Manager of Smedegaard Ltd, said: “This is a really exciting time for both Smedegaard Limited and KSB Limited. KSB has always been known for its high quality products in the Water and Waste Water, Power and Industry sectors and this now gives us a real opportunity to expand further and build on the work Smedegaard have been doing within the Building Services sector.”

He continued: “We see the future as being really bright for the Smedegaard facility at Bridgwater (pictured). It gives us an opportunity to grow and develop the business there and invest for the future. We see Bridgwater as being the Centre of Excellence for the UK on KSB’s Fluid Future Campaign focusing on energy savings.

“Fundamentally it is Smedegaard Ltd’s ability to offer the customer a complete package of equipment, specifically designed for the Building Services industry, together with the product being of the highest quality and backed by technical expertise that will continue to ensure a steady increase in KSB UK market share in the Building Services sector,” adds Mr Taylor.
