Somfy Limited is the latest major manufacturer to become a member of KNX UK, the Association representing manufacturers, systems integrators, distributors, users and training establishments for KNX technology in the United Kingdom.
Somfy is a world leading manufacturer of motors and control systems for automated solar protection and security applications within commercial buildings and domestic premises. The company has been established in the UK since 1969 and has offices in London and Yeadon, near Leeds. Somfy Limited is part of the worldwide Somfy International Group with its HQ in France and some 4700 worldwide employees working within 52 subsidiaries.
Somfy provides controls for many different products from roller shutters and interior blinds to patio awnings, garage doors, curtains and gates. Sales exceed over one million motors in European markets such as France or Germany where roller shutters are very widely specified. However, the fast growing UK market offers great sales potential and developments such as Part L of the Building Regulations which are creating new sales opportunities for the company.
