The chillers are equipped with up to three oil-less Turbocor compressors, and based on one or two cooling circuits, depending on size. A new Rhoss Integrated Sequencer (RIS) enables up to four chillers to be multi-plexed, giving overarching intelligent control, optimising performance and minimising energy consumption.
TurboPOWER chillers can be equipped with an innovative inverter-controlled pump which allows systems to be set up with variable primary flow, simplifying commissioning and further reducing energy costs.
HFC refrigerant models have ESEERs of up to 5.63, putting them above Eurovent Class A for energy efficiency, while HFO options perform even better, with ESEERs of up to 5.66.
Energy performance is assisted by the use of micro-channel heat exchangers on the air-side, which also enable refrigerant charge to be reduced by 30% compared with conventional heat exchangers.
Water-side heat exchangers are of a flooded shell and tube design, complete with closed cell polyurethane foam insulation, water flow differential pressure switch and Victaulic fittings.
TurboPOWER chillers are available in three versions: B is a Basic model, which still achieves efficiency class A, and includes a sound-proofed compressor compartment; T is a high-efficiency version, achieving above class A, also equipped with a sound-proofed compressor enclosure; and Q is a super-quiet version, with enhanced acoustic attenuation and variable-speed EC fans.
The chillers can be equipped with a factory-fitted integral refrigerant leak detection system to satisfy the requirements of the F-Gas Regulation in relation to static leak monitoring.
The roll-out follows installation of the world’s first TurboPOWER chiller at a John Lewis Partnership outlet in London’s Sloane Square earlier this year, supplied by Klima-Therm. The 2MW cooling capacity installation replaced two aging roof-top mounted conventional chillers that had come to the end of their working life.
