A new wireless fire alarm system installed at one of London’s leading co-educational independent day schools has Kentec fire control panels at its heart.

Radnor House School in Twickenham is a new co-educational independent school for students aged 7 – 18 located on the banks of the River Thames where 18th Century English poet Alexander Pope’s historic villa was once situated.

A major £1.5m building renovation that included specialist science laboratories, an art suite, music school and an all-weather play area for more than 130 students, also has a new fire alarm system to replace the existing installation.

Fire safety system designers Fire Systems Ltd were required to engineer and install a system that would not damage the fabric of this beautiful historic building, but would provide the highest level of fire protection to both staff and students.

A new 12 zone wireless fire alarm system, comprising a Kentec Syncro two loop AS analogue addressable fire alarm control panel using Argus open protocol fire data communications with Argus wireless detectors, was installed and commissioned by Fire Systems Ltd in just two weeks.

The successful installation is now delivering a 21st Century solution that does not impact on the historical beauty of the building by removing the need for unsightly cables.
