Award-winning building services provider J S Wright has secured a contract worth almost £4m to install the mechanical services for one of London’s most prestigious new housing developments.
The 125-year-old company, which has offices in Birmingham, Bristol and London, is to fit out 155 high quality homes including 125 apartments and 30 houses at Putney Rise SW15 for Barratt London. It brings the total value of contracts that J S Wright has been awarded by Barratt London over the past two years to almost £19m. It will also bring to over 1,000 the number of new homes that the company will have completed for the developer.
J S Wright, which won the title of Building Services Contractor of the Year at this year’s H&V News Awards in London, will be installing energy efficient low-temperature hot water heating and boosted cold water systems in a communal plant room, including the distribution pipework to all the properties.
The 16-month contract, scheduled for completion in October 2016, will also involve the installation of domestic hot and cold water services, low-energy mechanical ventilation with a heat recovery system, underfloor heating, soil and waste services, and sanitary ware in each property.
The project follows a £5.8m deal with Barratt London, scheduled for completion this month, to fit out 375 luxury apartments and penthouses at Queensland Road in Islington next to Arsenal’s Emirates stadium.
J S Wright has already completed a £3.5m commission for 283 homes including a tower block at the developer’s Canada Water scheme in Southwark. The company is currently working on 267 apartments at Fulham Riverside, one of the developer’s flagship schemes, which is scheduled for completion in December 2015.
