The HVCA has launched a new look e-commerce site and a new look catalogue, showcasing all its publications. These publications are widely respected in the HVACR industry as definitive guides to legislation, regulations, and best practice, and many contain advice designed to help businesses’ profitability.
The site has been modelled on leading consumer sites that sell publications, with user-friendly navigation and a simple ordering facility. In response to customer feedback and research on the previous site, the layout is classically clean and devoid of fussy imagery.
The page size of the new printed catalogue has been reduced from A4 to A5, but still lists and describes all the HVCA publications. The new more portable catalogue promotes the HVCA Publications website more prominently than its predecessor.
Rachel Davidson, HVCA Publications Manager, commented: “The site complements our telephone line for publications orders. It makes it easier for members to keep up to date with industry best practice. We launched the original website in September 1999 and enjoyed a significant increase in sales. We currently take 33% of all our orders online, and by launching this superior site we expect this to increase to more than 50% in the next year.”
The new website’s facilities include a comprehensive description of every publication, with the option to view a selection of pages, as well an image of the publication’s front cover. An easy-to-use ‘quick find’ search facility allows visitors to explore by topic, latest publication, or alphabetically. Visitors to the new site can also track their orders online.
The printed catalogue has been designed to complement the website and to give customers another option of browsing and ordering publications if they are unable to visit the new website.
