The Heat Pump Association (HPA) has welcomed  DECC announcements on non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), which include for the first time air to water heat pumps, a technology poised to make a major contribution to the UK’s renewable agenda.

Tony Bowen, President of HPA, commented: “HPA and the whole industry welcomes the outcome of the latest consultations by DECC to which so much time has been devoted by both DECC and industry experts.

“The combined impact of revised tariffs for ground source heat pumps and the long awaited addition of air to water heat pumps promises to have a very significant effect on the adoption of these technologies and the achievement of the goals of the RHI policy. We look forward to assisting with policy refinements over the next few months.”
