Hager is doing its bit to help more than 200 budding local electrical installers by sponsoring a new electrical test centre at Telford College of Art and Technology. The company will provide free electrical equipment to build Inspection and Testing training boards for students to work on.

The new training boards will help students who are training for the City & Guilds 2330 Electro Technical certificate and the City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing certificate.

Steve Jones, Head of school engineering said:  “A considerable number of students will benefit from Hager’s donation.  We have 60 full time students on their level 2 training and a further 45 on level 3.  We also have 100 part time and 70 evening students doing their apprenticeships with us.

“All of them will benefit from using the up to date equipment that Hager has supplied for their practical electrical testing skills.”

Bruce Davies, Commercial Director at Hager said:  “We are always keen to encourage professional training among electricians and hope that this sponsorship goes some way to bringing more young people into our profession. We are also a major employer in Telford and consider it our responsibility to support the local community.

“By supporting Telford College of Arts and Technology we are helping our local community and at the same time ensuring the supply of professionally qualified electrical installers for both local industry and the community.”

Equipment supplied by the company includes TP&N and SP&N electrical distribution boards plus the circuit protection devices, metal clad sockets, fuses, light switches, dimmers and light fittings.
