Fläkt Woods has won an order to provide the ventilation requirements as part of a supply and installation package for the inspiring new National Indoor Sports Arena & Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome building, currently under construction which will be used for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The Velodrome is one element of the new facility, which when completed will be one of the biggest indoor facilities of its type in Europe. The National Indoor Sports Arena & Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome is being constructed on a ten and a half acre site close to Celtic Park in the City’s east end, which will also be close to the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village.

Fläkt Woods is supplying a total of 25 air handling units from their EU range. The EU modular air handling unit gives total flexibility with its wide range of functions and options providing the optimum air handling solutions possible.

A number of the units will be the largest type available, EU84’s, with high efficiency fans equipped with airflow measurement devices and a capacity of 25m³/s.

The supply and exhaust units feature run-around coil recovery systems, heating, integrated local cooling and integrated local controls with connection to a BMS system.
