Working for contractors Skanska, Fläkt Woods in partnership with SK sales Croydon has won a contract to supply the ventilation needs for the new turnstile building at the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) in Wimbledon.
During the winter months the AELTC undertake a programme of major building works to keep this venue at the forefront of modern stadia. This year the Club completed a new main turnstile in Church Road which houses the completely new Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and its merchandise shop, a ticket office and Club offices above.

Fläkt Woods were selected to provide the ventilation as they could meet the extremely tight deadlines required for delivering the fans on-site, and also had the ability to supply units that met the performance and noise specifications of mechanical and electrical contractors Hoare Lee.

The fans, supplied through SK Sales Croydon, are high pressure JM axial fans, with 630 mm diameter impellors; delivered in just two weeks from the initial order they are now being used to provide specialist venting.

The external appearance of this building is in keeping with the design of the adjacent No.1 Court, with extensive glazing, contributing to the openness of the grounds and views outwards from within.
