The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) has pledged its commitment to addressing industry skills shortages with the launch of a £10 million training fund.
The fund aims to generate earnings to support ongoing training in areas that currently do not qualify for government funding, such as adult training and to stimulate investment in additional training, particularly in areas where there is currently a gap.
David Pollock, ECA Group CEO said: “In this changing business environment, we believe that adult training and up-skilling the talent that already exists within the industry is key to plugging the skills gap.
“Our fund expressly intends to incentivise member companies that are committed to training and those struggling to get training programmes off the ground. We hope that other organisations within the building services environment will follow our lead and that as an industry we will work together to tackle the skills shortfall once and for all.”
The fund is available to ECA members who can download the application form from the ECA website: http://www.eca.co.uk/.
