The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) is pleased to announce the launch of ECA Bid (www.ecabid.co.uk), an online auction site where electrical contractors can buy and sell goods.

The items being sold will be primarily electrotechnical, but will also include vehicles, office and safety equipment.

Steve Bratt, Chief Operating Officer at the ECA, said: “Instigated by our members, we believe that ECA Bid will provide a useful resource not only for ECA members, but for firms throughout the electrical industry. Cutting costs is particularly important and ECA Bid offers the perfect solution by creating a fantastic forum to recycle goods and help firms to move unused stock. “

Fees for selling on ECA Bid are approximately 15% lower than other popular online auction websites, and as a special promotion there will be no charge for listing an item for the first three months following the launch.

“The launch of ECA Bid is great news for the industry. Traditionally we have relied on word of mouth to buy and sell hard to find items so this new online resource should make the process much easier. I hope ECA Bid grows to become the auction site of choice for the industry,” said Russell Solts, ECA member and Managing Director of Smart Ltd.

Users should log onto the website and follow the easy registration process to begin listing or purchasing items. Please visit www.ecabid.co.uk for a full list of fees and terms and conditions.
