Grundfos has been awarded an International CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Excellence Award at a recent carbon neutral ceremony held on board HMS Belfast,

CSR is a measure of a company’s intent to be a good corporate citizen and is something that is important to Grundfos. This is because Grundfos want to be seen as a responsible company that operate with due respect, proper procedures and ethical behaviour as well as being a pump manufacturer that produces innovative, energy efficient pumps.

Participating in awards like this is an important element in measuring CSR activities against other likeminded companies. This entry was close to home as it related to the recent refurbishment of the four storey Grundfos HQ in Leighton Buzzard that incorporated many energy saving features. These included solar panels; a VRV (variable refrigerant volume) system; T8 motion and light sensitive lighting; low-flush toilets; automated taps and automated hand dryers.

But the real result can be measured in terms of the outcome and these show a 50% saving, on top of the original energy savings that had been attained by reducing demand – a clear demonstration of CSR in action.
