CP Electronics lighting controls have been installed in the conference facilities at the historic Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) Football Club. With hospitality events playing a vital role at Wolves, CP’s Rapid System was chosen to provide a flexible, scene setting solution that would enable the rooms to be used for a variety of functions, from corporate presentations to weddings.

The Premier League club based at Molineux, Wolverhampton, is one of the most famous football clubs in the UK and has been at the present site since 1889. Considerable renovation work has taken place at Wolves since the 1990’s when conference and banqueting suites were added to the site, most of which are pitch facing and can accommodate anything from 20 – 400 people.

CP’s Rapid is a modular lighting system that enables a wide selection of devices to be fitted and configured to suit the precise requirements of a project. These can include lighting control modules, interfaces, presence detectors and photocells. The system offers simple installation, commissioning and ease of use and the facility to be controlled via standard light switches, handsets or from a central computerised source.

Rapid has been installed at the club in two of the hospitality areas, The International and Chairman’s Suites, by local electrical installer J H Blounts as it was recognised as the best solution to meet all the requirements of a multi-functional room. Commenting on the installation, Stadium Manager Steve Sutton stated: “The rooms are being used for conferences, weddings, parties, exhibitions and match day hospitality which meant that we required a variety of different lighting levels to suit each specific event. CP’s lighting solution has provided us with a very flexible system that enables us to offer a variety of scene settings options and we are very pleased with the results”.
