BEST (Building Engineering Services Training), an HVCA group company, has appointed a new Technical & Qualifications manager, Christine Wright. Christine joins BEST with a wealth of experience within training and the building services engineering (BSE) sector and is charged with developing the BEST Assessment Centre, the national network of NVQ assessors created by training employees in BSE industries.
Christine has already worked with BEST in her most recent role at Shepherd Engineering Services (SES), where she was responsible for the complete range of training activities for all employees within the company, from apprentices to directors. BEST has a long-established history of facilitating apprenticeships for SES, and joined forces with Christine and Leeds College of Building to develop a learning academy for SES apprentices.

Christine’s experience within the fields of training and development include 24 years working for BT, where she spent much of her time designing and delivering training to BT staff all over the country. Christine also fulfilled a similar role at Accenture HR Services, as senior associate for learning and development.

Talking about her new role, Christine stated: “I am excited by my position at BEST and intend to use my knowledge and skills to help develop the BEST Assessment Centre, a tool which has huge benefits to individual businesses. Having staff in-house available to assess apprentices saves time and money, as well as allowing for a level of company understanding not possible for an external assessor.”

Christine joins BEST to replace John Evans, who retired after 14 years of loyal service.
