Chloride creates a milestone

Chloride has reached a significant milestone at Canary Wharf, having supplied more than 50MVA of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to some of the world’s leading legal and financial institutions. This is the largest concentration of Chloride UPS anywhere in the world and continues to grow as more blue chip customers move in and entrust their critical power protection to the Company recently acclaimed Frost & Sullivan European UPS Company of the Year 2007.
Canary Wharf clients are among the world’s most demanding customers, as power protection is critical for their business continuity. Downtime is not an option for round-the-clock global businesses, particularly in the financial markets, where trillions of pounds change hands every minute on trading floors.
Much of this vital equipment is linked to and monitored by, Chloride’s 24/7 remote monitoring and diagnostics service, with which the supplier effectively takes responsibility for the health of the UPS. In addition to the 50MVA of UPS solutions, Chloride has also installed over 55,000A of CROSS static switches which maintain the integrity of the total power protection system, increase power source reliability and eliminate the high percentage of faults linked to electrical distribution problems in the system downstream of the power source.
Andrew Lowe, Managing Director of Chloride UK said: “Our ability to take the most complex power protection projects from design right through to commissioning and after-care is how Chloride has gained the reputation as an ideal partner for integrated power projects around the world”.
