Thousands of pounds are expected to be raised for exceptionally good causes at next month’s ECA Gala Dinner and Annual Awards in South Wales.

Last year almost £4,000 was raised for the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) due to the generous participation of many ECA members and other leading figures within the industry. This year the main beneficiaries of the fundraising drive will again be the EIC.

ECA CEO Steve Bratt commented: “The ECA is extremely proud to have raised tens of thousands of pounds for the Electrical Industries Charity in recent years, which goes to help those in our industry who need additional support.

“We know that those attending on the evening will enjoy the great food and entertainment on offer, and will also be able to play their part in supporting our industry charity.”

EIC Managing Director Tessa Ogle added: “The Electrical Industries Charity is extremely grateful to the ECA and its members for the generous support which they continue to give. The money raised goes towards helping people in our industry such as the Hendrie family whose life changed completely when 32 year old Christopher was diagnosed with bile duct cancer.

“Through the Mount Kilimanjaro fundraising challenge, we are hoping to raise £100,000 for this family by February 2017. But there are many other families in similar situations and the money which the industry continues to raise ensures that everyone has access to help when they need it most.”

Attendees will enjoy an evening of entertainment hosted by Alan Dedicoat – the voice of The National Lottery and Strictly Come Dancing – alongside top comedian Stephen K. Amos. The three-course dinner menu includes dishes sourced locally in Wales.

During the Gala Dinner, the EIC’s Managing Director Tessa Ogle will formally announce the prize draw, with winning participants receiving a £300 experience gift card, donated by the ECA.

The announcement of the eight ECA Annual Award winners will also be a highlight of the evening, with a number of firms still in contention to win after a rigorous independent judging process.

The ECA Gala Dinner and Annual Awards, supported by headline sponsor LEDVANCE, are being held on Friday 8 July at Celtic Manor, South Wales. There are limited spaces remaining – to book your place, please visit www.eca.co.uk.
