KeithThompsonEnergySavingCPD-WEEMGBlandfordMay2014Hamworthy Heating has developed a new CIBSE accredited CPD presentation which looks at the practicalities of how to save energy in commercial heating and hot water projects and the best way to quantify those savings from the whole-life perspective.

Aimed at heating and DHW specifiers, consultants, facilities managers and procurement managers, the CPD will look at equipment selection priorities and why efficiency is a key driver towards a lower carbon Britain. With the use of practical examples the course will highlight the real benefits to the bottom line of improvements such as using higher efficiency and close load matching modular condensing boiler systems in place of traditional atmospheric and steel shell boilers.

Keith Thompson, Sales and Marketing Director commented, “Whole life costs are currently a major focus in the industry, as well as being high on the agenda of the Government’s Construction Strategy. We want to share our knowledge as a leading commercial boiler manufacturer to help our customers demonstrate to their clients the return on investment of a new system. These quantifiable savings can really add value to specifications and tender documents, particularly as we have seen examples where a million pounds can be saved on gas bills alone!”

The free to attend course has received approval from CIBSE enabling it to count towards a CIBSE member’s annual CPD hours.

To gain accreditation from CIBSE, courses have to go through a strict judging panel who review the content for technical and professional relevance, as well as consistency of delivery and added value to the learner.

Keith added, “UK and EU legislation is frequently changing and it can be difficult to keep up to speed with these developments on top of the demands of the day job. With this in mind we prepared a ‘Carrots and Sticks’ summary sheet of the latest relevant legislation and incentives for attendees to take away at the end of the session.”

The CPD seminar is a thorough but concise course that can be delivered in one to two hours anywhere across the UK; either at a customer’s premises or an external site.

Hamworthy’s CPD seminars are delivered free of charge by highly experienced HVAC professionals. For more information and to book a course; telephone 0845 450 2865, email marketing@hamworthy-heating.com, or visit www.hamworthy-heating.com/cpd.
