BG Electrical has supplied Sockets with USB connectivity to a temporary hospital in Swansea. Swansea Bay Studios on Fabian Way was the chosen location for one of two Field Hospitals constructed as part of the UK’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Unlike the Nightingale hospitals in England, the two Swansea Bay field hospitals were designed to treat patients who were less ill, but not able enough to go home. Formally a factory, then film studio complex, a structure had to be built within the building to create a modern hospital setting providing 850 beds for the NHS.

USB Sockets from BG is available in single and double socket format with two, three or four charging ports freeing up the electrical sockets for other appliances. Standby mode is activated when a device is fully charged, the charging pattern is adjusted to suit so the device is protected in the event of an overload making USB Sockets ideal for charging iPads, phones, tablets and cameras.  Installation is made easy with colour-coded terminals for quick fitting out and only requires a 25mm depth mounting box, also making USB sockets an ideal retrofit option.
