Priva Building Intelligence has scooped the award for the most innovative product at its first attempt. The Dutch building controls company beat 35 other entries for the prestigious Etop Award during the Electrotechniek trade fair, held at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, the Netherlands, when its Comforte CX individual room controller was named the most innovative electrical engineering product for 2005.

The Etop Award is presented bi-annually in recognition of products that inspire innovation in the Dutch electrical engineering market. A jury of eight specialists evaluated the technical functionality, cost effectiveness, ergonomics and styling, durability, and originality of the products submitted. “It was the company’s first entry and proved to be a dream debut,” said Victor Mackay, Marketing and Sales Manager, who collected the award for Priva Building Intelligence.

The Comforte CX, which had its market launch in August 2004, is a compact, multifunctional and modular controller that has been designed for use in cellular offices and open-plan areas. The unit provides individual comfort control in a range of working environments including commercial, industrial and public sector buildings.
