Multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, AECOM has appointed John Redding and Shaun Edwards to the growing development team based in the Newcastle office.

John Redding joins as an associate director bringing with him more than 14 years experience in the fields of traffic engineering, transport planning and project management. Mr Redding’s key responsibilities will be the day to day management of AECOM’s development engineering and development planning teams in the north east.

Shaun Edwards takes up the position of senior consultant and will work on the delivery of development planning projects.

Both John and Shaun have extensive experience of development projects across the north east and beyond, covering a diverse range of sectors including health, leisure, education, commercial, residential, retail, waste and energy.  They bring experience ranging from small-scale development sites through to major large-scale regeneration schemes.

These latest appointments come on the back of an increase in workload resulting from appointments on major schemes for clients such as ASDA, Lidl, the University of York and the Highways Agency.  Closer to home, AECOM is working on developments at Newcastle Great Park and Wynyard Park, Tees Valley.

Commenting on the appointments, director, Alan James, said: “Clients expect and receive a high level of service delivery and innovation when they appoint AECOM.  In order to fulfil our reputation for delivery it is important we recruit and retain high calibre, experienced professionals. I am delighted to welcome both John and Shaun. They each bring with them considerable and complementary experience which will be invaluable in further strengthening existing in-house resources and expanding our capabilities. “
