The latest restaurant and bar to open its doors in Northern Ireland is not only ensuring its clientele of a warm welcome, but it also delivers energy efficient heating, cooling and ventilation thanks to the installation of a Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning system by Air Cool Engineering (NI) Ltd.

The Classic Winebar on Main Street, Limavady has opened its doors after months spent transforming the premises from a bakery to a contemporary and chic new dining experience. The building includes an impressive 5,000 square foot dining space, a wine bar, a cocktail room and the courtyard open air area.

Limavady-based Air Cool Engineering won the tender to install air conditioning, heating and ventilation, and installed the building’s services during the refurbishment when the building was completely gutted back to its shell.

“We were delighted to win the tender to install The Classic Winebar’s HVAC system because it demonstrates that businesses needn’t look too far to find the expertise required for this type of project,” explained Andrew Grant, Project Manager for Air Cool Engineering (NI) Ltd.

Air Cool Engineering is a Business Solutions Provider for Mitsubishi Electric and this allows the company to offer a five year warranty on the air conditioning installation. The initial system design provided by DMAC Engineering Design was adapted and modified to suit the wine bar’s dynamic and evolving interior design.

The restaurant has three Mitsubishi Electric ceiling cassettes and two ducted units fitted in the main ground floor dining and bar areas. These are supplied with heating and cooling from five Mr Slim PUHZ-P100VHA3 outdoor units, carefully sited against the rear wall on a flat roof on the first floor. These work in conjunction with two Lossnay heat recovery ventilation units to provide heating, cooling and ventilation to the entire space. To co-ordinate with the décor, cassettes and linear grilles were painted to minimise their visual impact.

The standard inverter PUHZ-P100VHA3 10kW models provide an inverter solution at a lower capital cost than Mitsubishi Electric’s Power Inverter range and offer highly efficient COPs of 3.41, with pipe runs of up to 50 metres. The Mr Slim range has been designed to offer complete flexibility with a wide range of indoor units available. The systems offer increased efficiency with reduced power consumption to deliver an adaptable split-system range that is designed to fit anywhere whilst providing complete, energy efficient control over the indoor environment.
