Vaillant has provided Aston Wood Golf Club with a heating system that would make even Tiger Woods green with envy. The installation at the Aston Wood clubhouse involved two Vaillant ecoTEC 65 commercial condensing boilers and a VRC 630 boiler management system. The new system has been so successful that the 200-acre championship golf course has recently seen more of its 850 members staying behind for a well-earned drink after their round. Mark Davies, managing director of Prolec UK, installed the Vaillant equipment.

Aston Wood Golf Club is an 18-hole USPGA standard golf course, situated in Sutton, Coldfield in the heart of the West Midlands. After spending in excess of £180,000 on the drainage of the course during the past three years, Aston Wood was keen to provide the best conditions for its members during the milder winter months. However, it wasn’t the 18-hole golf course that was under-performing, but the heating system within its leisure facility, which includes a restaurant, bar, members lounge and snooker room.

Kenny Virdee, a member of Aston Wood Golf Club and Vaillant’s regional sales manager, noticed the heating issue throughout the club and helped to specify two Vaillant ecoTEC 65kW wall hung condensing boilers as part of a heating solution. The recent installation has formed part of a £100,000 refurbishment programme by Aston Wood, which is nearing 50% completion.

Mark Davies, managing director of Prolec UK, commented on the installation: “I have been using Vaillant domestic boilers for years now and can’t fault any of their products. When I heard that the golf club had specified a Vaillant ecoTEC 65 commercial boiler, I had no hesitation in installing it, I can safely say that with the new Vaillant boiler and outside temperature controls, the cost savings will be noticeable with almost immediate effect.”Â
