Uponor’s specialist installation business, formerly known as velta, has been renamed Uponor Building Energy (UBE), emphasising its ongoing focus on the commercial built environment. UBE provides a complete design, supply and installation service for the commercial building sector.
Uponor acquired velta in 2009, establishing itself as a leading European provider of bespoke Embedded Heating & Cooling solutions which includes Thermally Activated Building Structures (TABS).
Lee Tebbatt, Managing Director, at Uponor Building Energy said: “The full integration of velta into the Uponor brand is testament to its continued success and that of the team who continue to develop unique heating and cooling solutions for a wide variety of iconic buildings. Now being seen as an integral part of the Uponor Group will provide the large company backing that is so essential when dealing with large construction schemes.”
In the last five years, the Uponor radiant heating system has been installed in the Olympic Velodrome, Birmingham Library (recently shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling prize for the best new building) as well as a number of other buildings such as schools and University campuses.
