A newly-formed product management team is to lead the delivery of a major programme of new product development at Trox UK.

Group-wide Trox invests 8% of its revenue each year in R&D and projects are driven forward by nine centres of excellence worldwide, of which the Trox UK site in Thetford is one.

To continue to build on its technical base, the company has restructured internally, forming a new product management team for the UK which combines expertise from across all product areas. Collectively, the team will contribute to global innovation for the Trox group in those technical areas in which the UK has specific international expertise, as well as managing the ongoing development and delivery of new products in the UK.

Overseeing the Trox UK test facility and its staff is Research and Development Manager Juergen Dieris who joined the UK team two years ago from Trox headquarters in Germany.

To manage the development and introduction of new products for UK customers, three key personnel have been brought together with specific responsibility for different sectors of the Trox product range.

Iskender Gençer is responsible for product management for the chilled beams range – one of Trox UK’s most well-established and best-selling product sectors.

Barry Trewhitt is managing development of the fire damper range which will see major new launches of EN classified products during 2010. He is also responsible for decentralised air management systems and is an expert in specialist technology for control of laboratory environments.

Ian Thomas, Components Product Manager, will drive ongoing development of Trox’s grilles, diffusers, fan coil units, acoustics and VAV products.

Commenting on the formation of the team, Chief Operating Officer Ian Sams said: “Some manufacturers expect customers to take the performance of new products on trust. That’s not the Trox way. We test, prove and demonstrate the performance of our products. That requires a strong technical base for all R&D activity. Over a period of years we have built up unrivalled resources in R&D – both in the calibre of our engineers and scientists, and in our test facilities. The newly-formed product management team aligns this expertise to bring innovation to the market even more effectively, and with the high level of technical back-up that our customers associate with every Trox product.”
