The Teesside office of Faithful+Gould is celebrating the successful completion of its role on a half a billion pound contract in Peru.
Its team has recently undertaken a review of construction costs on civil engineering elements for a new Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) plant for Chicago Bridge and Iron (CB&I), one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies.
The plant which is to be located at the Pampa Melchorita site, 170 km south of Lima, will see the transformation of 4.45 million tons per year of natural gas into LNG, which is created when natural gas is cooled to a sub-zero temperature (-163ºC).
The site will be the home for the transformation of vast assets of natural gas into LNG for export to the west coast of North America, where demand for gas is expected to increase significantly in the years ahead.

“Our greatest challenge throughout the life of this project has been validating the estimates with local labour and material costs together with Peruvian exchange rates and inflation.
“We have an extremely good working relationship with Chicago Bridge and Iron and are involved in ongoing discussions with them regarding the possibility of future work.”
