Do you know someone who is bursting with talent and energy?  Why not reward their skills at SkillELECTRIC 2009, a competition organised by SummitSkills, the sector skills council for building services engineering.

The hunt is on to find the UK’s finest electrician in a bid to promote high standards and skills across the electrical industry, developing competence into excellence.  If you have an excellent apprentice within your business, SkillELECTRIC is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, highlight their outstanding skills, and achieve positive publicity for your company.

SkillELECTRIC will consist of a number of regional heats across the UK, culminating in the final to be held in the autumn.  At these heats, competitors will be assessed on a series of practical tests based on real-life work situations.  The highest scoring competitors at the UK final may have the opportunity to be selected to compete in the WorldSkills competition in 2011.

SkillELECTRIC is part of Skill M&E – four skills competitions that seek the finest mechanical and electrical engineers in the building services engineering sector.  Skill M&E also incorporates SkillFRIDGE for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, SkillPLUMB for the plumbing industry, and new for 2009, SkillPIPE for the heating & ventilating industry.

Entry forms must be submitted by 31 March 2009 – all you have to do is call 01908 303960 for an entry pack, or visit the dedicated Skill M&E website for more details.  The pack comprises a talent spotting check-list, an in-house skills competition task and marking schedule and an entry form.
