Safetherm, the new thermostatic mixer tap for healthcare from Rada, sets new standards in safety, ease of use and serviceability. It is the first mixer tap to feature Insutech+ Technology, which reduces surface temperatures on the hot inlet to a safe level. This answers growing health sector concerns about accidental contact burns, particularly children and the elderly grabbing the body of a hot tap.

The sequential, single lever thermostatic mixer tap has been designed with ease of use as a key consideration in the development process. It is easy to operate under hospital protocols, with a maximum 120 degrees travel. This ensures it is simple to use using the elbow to prevent cross infection, while delivering a full range of water temperatures in a controlled manner.

Safetherm is also fully compliant with technical guidelines laid out in HTM64 and meets the D08 performance standard – as required by legislation in NHS hospitals. To further help cut out the risk of Hospital Environment Contamination, the design eliminates unnecessary internal spaces and internal machining detail that could house standing water when a tap is not in use.
