Priva controls fit all
Published:  22 September, 2005

Alpha Controls has completed controls installations at two sports and leisure centres. The order was placed by contractors, M S Frise and the sites are the Warminster Sports Hall and the Castle Place Leisure Centre in Trowbridge where Compri HX4 controllers from Priva Building Intelligence were specified.

Refurbishment of the swimming pool at the Warminster Sports Hall included the installation of a new air handling unit (AHU) incorporating heater battery; face/bypass damper recouperator and speed control of the supply and extract fans. An improved ventilation system within the gym at the Castle Place Leisure Centre saw a similar AHU installation, with the addition of an energy-saving control strategy that can reclaim extract heating and cooling from the gym’s split systems. In addition, the leisure centre has also benefited from Priva controls being fitted to the existing AHUs serving the centre’s conference room and lounge area.

The Compri HX4 has been designed to support a maximum of 92 inputs/outputs (I/O). The I/O modules are universal and multi-functional for greater application flexibility. The modular construction of the Compri HX range allows the controllers to be customised at the engineering stage and extended later if required. The HX4 is built around a powerful 32-bit microprocessor delivering impressive high processing speed and computing power. Large quantities of data, such as program settings and adjustments, alarm messages, energy consumption, and logs can be stored in RAM creating a reliable base for subsequent data analysis. All programs are safely guarded in flash memory.
