Rosewood Animal Hospital,Coseley,West Midlands,is one of three practices within the Lockwood Veterinary Group, formed in 1994 and dedicated to providing high quality care for West Midlands’pets. In June, the hospital moved into new purpose designed and larger premises comprising advanced and comprehensive facilities, which are among the best in the region.
Air conditioned throughout with the latest Daikin R-410A heat pump equipment, the new complex is fully equipped with in house laboratory, radiology, ultra sound and electro-cardiology facilities.
Further support is also on hand via an associated emergency clinic that provides night/weekend emergency services, which mirror the high quality of day care on offer. The air conditioning system was designed and installed by Daikin D1 installer,Intercool Systems Ltd, Stafford.
Conditioned air for the reception area is supplied from a single RZQ100 Sky Air Super Inverter via two ceiling cassette units, each linked by small branch ducts to consulting rooms. The nurses’ area, pre operation preparation room, operating theatre and X-ray rooms are also air conditioned by small duct or ceiling cassette units supplied from a 4MXS90 Multi Split unit. All outdoor units are mounted on a high level bracket on the side of the building.
Great care has been taken to avoid any chance of cross infection by means of positive fresh air supply and extract ventilation, which is provided for the consulting rooms, pre op room and operating theatre by Daikin VAM heat reclaim ventilation units, installed in the building’s false ceilings.
Tempered fresh air is supplied by these units, which modulate the temperature and humidity of incoming outdoor air to match prevailing indoor conditions.A balance is thereby achieved between indoor and outdoor ambient conditions, minimising the loading imposed on the air conditioning system to cool or heat the incoming air.The high sensible and latent heat reclaim features inherent in VAM units reduce input energy requirements and costs and keep CO2 emissions to a minimum.
