Diesel spill kits
Published:  04 January, 2011

The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001 has resulted in the Environment Agency taking a strong line with polluters by issuing stringent fines. However despite every care being taken accidents can happen. Aware that the containment of spills is a major concern to companies and institutions, shentongroup is now offering Diesel Fuel Kits with all its generators.

Available in sizes ranging from 20 litres up to 200 litres, a spill kit will contain fuel absorbent pads and booms, waste bags and ties as well as instructions. Larger kits can also include drain covers and seals, detergent and warning signs, all packaged in a yellow-wheeled bin.

A typical 30 kVA generator with sufficient fuel for 12 hours operation will have approximately 200 litres of diesel fuel stored in the integral base tank or in some remote locations as much as 1000 or even 2500 litres in separate external bulk tanks.

Shentongroup’s bunded fuel tanks comply with DEFRA regulations and have been designed especially for the safe, secure and environmentally responsible storage of diesel fuels.
