Utilising their experience in developing highly effective multi-foil insulation materials for use in the building and construction industries, YBS Insulation has introduced an easy-to-fit method of reducing heat migration in ductwork systems.
Known as HVAC-WRAP, this high performance insulation acts by trapping air within its structure creating low emissivity air pockets which enhance its total thermal capabilities.
A reflective aluminium foil is bonded to both sides which are coated to provide corrosion resistance, durability and waterproofing. Manufactured in the UK and meeting the requirements of BS EN ISO 9002, this lightweight, easy-to-handle, versatile insulation has been rigorously tested and holds BBA Agrément Certificate No. 08/4565.
Installation is achieved by the simple process of stretching HVAC-WRAP over standard rectangular metallic ductwork utilising specially designed spacers on each corner and sealing with self-adhesive aluminium tape. This can help reduce air leakage from the duct and, when used with two layers, can achieve a thermal resistance of up to 2.245 m2KW.
CFC and HCFE free this 7mm thick double bubble membrane is not affected by moisture or humidity.
