Free guide to photovoltaics
Published:  19 July, 2010

With the UK photovoltaic market set to grow following the introduction of the Government’s Feed In Tariff (FIT) in April, Mitsubishi Electric has produced a free, CPD-Accredited Guide to the technology that explores the issues around solar power and highlights the rules of thumb necessary for specifying and installing these systems.

“Oil and gas prices continue to rise, so using solar power for our buildings is becoming an increasingly viable financial alternative,” explains Perry Jackson, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric’s Photovoltaic Division.

Building integrated photovoltaic systems can provide clean, renewable power, reducing electricity bills for the end-user as well as cutting CO2 emissions.  Solar power is also silent in operation and very reliable, requiring little planned maintenance.

The guide looks at the different systems available from in-roof, on-roof, standing seam, facades, and flat roof systems, as well as exploring the tariffs and rates.

The guide is part of a series of free industry brochures covering areas such as Part L of the Building Regulations; the Code for Sustainable Homes; heat pumps, and other energy efficient methods of heating, cooling, ventilating and powering our built environment.
