The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) welcomes the appointment of Paul Morrell as the Government Chief Construction Adviser (CCA). The new role will provide a single point of contact between government and industry, and an internal focus for resolving cross departmental issues.
CIBSE Technical Director Hywel Davies said: “The creation of this position has significant value both to government and industry. We look forward to working with the CCA on the Low Carbon Construction Review, to help identify opportunities for the industry to contribute to economic recovery, create new green jobs and deliver low carbon, low energy construction.”
According to the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, the CCA role will ‘play a vital role in championing the sector with Government and work with industry to ensure we have a strong, sustainable construction sector in the UK’.
