As part of its exclusive distribution agreement with Wolf GmbH, Walter Meier (Climate UK) is offering Wolf's innovative KG Top range of air handling units (AHUs).
Across its 16 sizes, ranging from 2,100m3/h to 100,000m3/h, Wolf KG/KGW units combine high performance and low energy consumption with sensible pricing and low cost of ownership. As such, they go far beyond the need to comply with standards and directives to encompass every detail of a project, from maximising design flexibility and optimising component sizes - right through to remarkable ease of installation and maintenance.
The KG Top range incorporates modular construction for greater flexibility, along with several other innovative features. For example, the company has used the filter dimensions of a standard 610mm x 610mm filter as the basis for all dimensions, so that the cross-section of the unit can be fully utilised with no dead space.
Traditionally, each function of an air-handling unit is housed in a separate box, which uses more space and increases costs. Thanks to its modular construction and optimised dimensions, the KG Top allows several functions - such as filtration and heating, heating and ventilation etc - to be housed in the same box. As well as saving space, this arrangement facilitates considerable variation in design.
A further benefit of this approach is that all units are aerodynamically optimised which, along with many other energy saving features, enables specifiers to achieve efficiency levels in line with the requirements of each project. For example, units are available with plug fans and EC fans, as well as several heat recovery options including plate heat exchangers, run around coils and thermal heat wheels.
In addition, this modular approach enables flexibility right up to the end of the production process and even on site, saving time and money on many projects.
KG Top AHUs also feature a new frame section with push-fit corner joints, which can be supplied for on-site assembly if required. Air tightness is achieved using high-quality, closed-pore, disinfectant-resistant and durable plastic strips, rather than silicone seals, so they can be used in a wide range of demanding applications without modification.
