Make fluorescents more efficient
Published:  04 June, 2009

Around 70% of commercial installations still use inefficient fluorescent tubes.  Now, by installing Electronic Control Gear (ECG) with new Lumilux T8 and T5 tubes from Osram, specifiers can benefit from a better colour rendering index, long life and substantial energy savings.

With ECG technology, a building can take advantage of lighting management systems (daylight sensors, motion sensors) and dimming capabilities, which ensure that light is only used when it is absolutely necessary. ECGs can operate lamps at high frequencies and as such, are making significant contributions to the energy efficiency of modern lighting systems.

Lumilux T5 tubes operated by new dimmable ECG with cut-off technology are setting new standards in energy efficiency and dimming quality. ECG operated Lumilux lamps benefit from extended lamp life, flicker-free light and flicker-free shutdown at the end of life.

For those that do not wish to upgrade from Conventional Control Gear (CCG) Osram also offers a direct replacement for basic tubes operated by CCG in the form of the new Lumilux T8 Energy Saver.
