Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Air Conditioning has launched a range of controllers suitable for connection to building management systems (BMS) using either of the two principal BMS protocols, LONworks or BACnet. The SC-LGW (LONworks gateway) interface device from MHI converts MHI's Superlink communications data and connects to most LONworks systems. For management systems based on a BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) system, MHI offers the SC-BGW (BACnet gateway) control.
David Lettis, MHI's UK Sales Manager says: "Services linked to a BMS typically represent 40% of a building's energy usage. With energy costs continuing to rise, specifying the right controller will ensure you get the best out of your aircon system in terms of performance and energy usage."
Mitsubishi Heavy's LGW and BGW units allow control and monitoring functions of the air conditioning system for up to 96 indoor units to be integrated via the BMS to a central control point. Operating data is sent from individual indoor and outdoor units to the BMS host computer through the LGW or BGW gateways.
