New tester from Seaward
Published:  25 July, 2008

Seaward Electronic has introduced a new hand held electrical installation tester that is designed to meet the earth resistance measurement requirements of the BS7671 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.

The new ERT1557 is a very competitive high specification earth resistance tester and is suitable for use on 110V, 230V and three phase electrical systems.

The special lightweight unit uses a current clamp test method to provide accurate earth electrode resistance measurement without disconnecting the electrode. Earth resistance measurement can be carried out using the 2, 3 and 4- wire method and the unit can also calculate resistivity.

The ERT1557 has an internal memory which can store up to 500 test results which can be downloaded to a conventional PC for analysis and record keeping or direct to a printer for test reports.

The compact, robust enclosure incorporates a large LCD display area. User friendly operating features include a large rotary dial for test selection and simple push button test activation.

The ERT1557 forms part of a new series of hand held installation testers.
