MK publishes new guide
Published:  24 April, 2008

MK Electric has published an extensive and authoritative guide to the most significant recent changes to the IEE Wiring Regulations entitled: 17th Edition MK Sentry Solutions. The changes are designed to further harmonize with international and European standards in a number of important areas.

The major and most important changes concern the installation of Residual Current Devices (RCDs) to provide additional protection; and MK's new guide - 17th Edition MK Sentry Solutions - not only explains in detail how the regulations have changed in respect of RCDs; but also gives useful information on how the new requirements can be met by consumer units and split load boards incorporating Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs), RCDs, and Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent Protection devices (RCBOs).

The high-quality 20 page document features both graphic and photographic examples describing practical situations where the new 17th Edition comes into play; but also identifies and explains the relevant chapters and their amendments. Ways of meeting the regulations are similarly illustrated and articulated; and MK's 17th Edition CPD provides opportunities for contractors, specifiers and consultants seeking to hone their knowledge of the 17th Edition.
