Do you know someone who is overflowing with talent? SummitSkills, the sector skills council for building services engineering (BSE), is calling for nominations for the SkillPLUMB and SkillELECTRIC competitions, as the hunt begins for the UK's finest plumber and electrician.
If you have someone in mind within your business, SkillPLUMB and SkillELECTRIC is a fantastic opportunity to promote high standards and skills across the BSE sector.
Nomination forms must be submitted by 29 February 2008 - all you have to do is call 01908 303971 for an entry pack, or contact your employee's college. The pack comprises of a talent spotting check-list, an in-house skills competition task, a marking schedule and an entry form.
SkillPLUMB and SkillELECTRIC will run competitions across the UK. At these events, competitors will be assessed on a series of practical tests based on real-life work. The winner of the UK final also has the chance to compete alongside other team mates in the WorldSkills competition.
SkillPLUMB and SkillELECTRIC are part of Skill M&E - three skills competitions that seek the best of the best mechanical and electrical engineers in the building services engineering sector. Skill M&E also incorporates SkillFRIDGE for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
