The Power of Light is the theme of The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) European conference ENLIGHTEN 2008, which will take place at The ARC Show 2008. The seminars are aimed at lighting specifiers, lighting manufacturers and representatives, architects, interior designers, educators and students.
The programme will cover:
- Urban Light Planning - how lighting for cities impacts its inhabitants
- New Technologies - from blue-sky thinking to cutting edge lamps
- Sustainable Power - a case study from the Himalayas
- The low-down on the Switched On London lighting festival
- How to work with architects
- Lighting for big events
- Sacred light - from temples to football stadiums
Speakers include some of the most talented and experienced lighting designers in the world, including Kevin Theobald, Mike Simpson, Henrietta Lynch, Neil Knowles, Keith Bradshaw, Durham Marenghi, Colin Ball and Mike Pointer. Lighting industry representatives include Philips, NDY, Isometrix, Spiers & Major Associates and BDP.
Emma Cogswell, IALD Project Co-ordinator Europe, commented: The IALD is proud to extend its Enlighten educational conference to Europe for the second year at The ARC Show. The high calibre of speakers who are talking on a range of topics are certain to inspire audiences from all levels of experience and professional backgrounds.
The ARC Show remains the only UK event at which key lighting professionals can meet and keep pace with the latest developments in products and technology. The 2008 event will feature over 100 exhibitors covering all aspects of architectural, retail and commercial lighting, giving visitors the chance to talk to a wide range of lighting experts.
The ARC Show will take place at the Business Design Centre, London on February 11 - 13 2008. The IALD Enlighten Europe conference will take place on February 12 13.
